Anxiety and Depression
There is little conversation around anxiety and depression
Except as problems to be medicated
In truth, these are mind body ailments
Distorting your thoughts, mood, and physical health
Even your breathing rate, metabolism
And immune system are affected
Some physiological systems innately interact with the world
In more sensitive, responsive ways
While others may remain untouched in the midst of seeming storms
We have lost the knowledge that being fully engaged with life
Can be demanding, often impossibly so
But such demands are also opportunities for growth
This is where a therapist can help
Specializations:
I specialize in wholistic approaches to the treatment of anxiety and depression,
which I view as responses to life, rather than illnesses. My training is
in traditional therapies, as well as cutting edge mind body approaches. Some
of my specializations in this area are cognitive behavioral therapy, relaxation
based therapies, guided imagery, hypnosis, as well as traditional “talk
therapy.”
